Biodiversity Workshop

Biodiversity Workshop

On Wednesday 1st March, the Ecological Gardener, Brenda Palmer, visited our school. Brenda did a biodiversity workshop with each second class.

In Ms Lambe’s class, the children learned about bringing wild birds back to the school. They made bird feeders from recycled bottles.

Ms Dooley’s class and Ms Leddy’s class focused on the importance of bees and their role in biodiversity. They watched a demonstration on how to make an underground shelter for the honey bee.  They planted sunflower seeds because both the birds and the bees love this special flower. And we do too!

We had great fun and learned lots. We look forward to working with Brenda again in our school.
