December fun!

December fun!

Here in Room 19, we LOVE Christmas! Our classroom is looking so festive with our Christmas tree up. Some of the girls have even decorated their baskets with fairy lights to make the classroom look even more Christmassy!

We had a lot of fun doing the art activity “Trapped in a Snow Globe.” Mrs Leddy took a picture of us in our coats and we had to pretend we were stuck in a snow globe. We then drew a snow globe and stuck our picture in it. We also wrote what we imagined being trapped in a snow globe would really be like. They turned out brilliantly. Have a look at them here.

We had a special visit from Santa to the classroom. He was so friendly and kind and asked us to sing a song for him. We were only too happy to sing “Jingle Bells” in our best singing voices. We can’t wait now to see what he leaves for us on Christmas Eve.

We had our Carol Service for our families. We sang “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree”, “We Wish You a Merry Christmas” and “Oíche Chiúin”. A few of the girls played instruments and sang in a small group for “Oíche Chiúin” which was really lovely. We had a great time practising beforehand too. Take a look at some practice photos and one from us on the stage performing at the Carol Service.

Finally, we hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and a happy New Year.
