Insects workshop with Nessa

Insects workshop with Nessa

As part of our sustainability project, we have been doing a lot of hard work in our school garden and around the school grounds. We were lucky enough to have Nessa in with us to complete a workshop on insects and their natural habitats. Nessa is a Creative Entomologist, who aims to promote and conserve insect wildlife. Nessa began by teaching us about a variety of insects and the vital role they play in our environment. We then went outside and created nature collages, looking for different colours, textures and shapes in the environment to stick to them. We searched for different insects using a variety of equipment such as pooters, nets, etc. We also observed the habitats in which these insects were living. Nessa taught us so much about the importance of insects in our environment, and why we should be looking after them and their habitats. The girls really enjoyed their day! Have a look at some pictures below!
