January in Room 24!

January in Room 24!

January has been a busy month in Room 24!

We have been looking at the procedural writing genre. The girls made lemonade in groups and wrote up the recipe after. They were delighted with how their lemonade turned out, it tasted great!

We have also been learning about Friction and Air Resistance in Science. The girls designed and created parachutes in pairs. The aim was to optimise air resistance. They used a variety of materials such as plastic bags, tissues, paper, etc. We then held parachute races, to see which parachute stayed in the air for the longest. Zoe was the winner with her parachute. Well done Zoe!

We are very lucky in Room 24 as we will be taking part in an 6-week cycle training course with Noel and Graham. The girls will be learning all about how to stay safe while cycling. It has been so much fun so far and the girls are thoroughly enjoying themselves!
