Science Week – Marine Workshop

Science Week – Marine Workshop

This week we are celebrating Science Week in our school. Thanks to Ms Mc Elwee and Ms Butler for organising lots of activities throughout the week. Each day we have a ‘Question of the Day’, where the winners will be announced at our assembly on Friday.

Today we had the pleasure of inviting Benny into our school. He held Marine Biology workshops for the girls in 2nd, 3rd and 4th. He told us lots of interesting facts about Marine Science and showed us many fascinating things. We used the microscope to look at a plankton, examined an old diver’s helmet and even got to touch a jaw bone from a shark! Have a look at some pictures below.

On Thursday, the girls in 5th and 6th class will be completing Forensic Science workshops so stay tuned for some updates on how they get on!

We also have been trying out some coding during our iPad slots using Lego We Do 2.0. This app along with the Lego box allows us to create a character out of Lego and to code the character using the app.

We are really enjoying Science Week so far!
